Six Weeks of Star Wars: Week One

Six Weeks of Star Wars

A week or two ago my wife decided she no longer wanted to be the odd man out when my two boys & I are talking about Star Wars, so she suggested we have a Six Weeks of Star Wars. Basically, every Friday we will watch one of the six Star Wars live action feature films in chronological order. Kind of a crash coarse for her and just fun for us.

The Phantom MenaceThis Friday we watched:

Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace”

Danielle has actually seen this one, in fact she was with me opening night in line for hours at a theater in Connecticut with my pregnant step-sister and her lame boyfriend. (by lame I mean his knee was messed up, but take it however you want to) Due to the events of that evening the movie was very late and Danielle does not remember a good portion of it. So, even this one will be educational for her.

Wookie Cookies: A Star Wars CookbookFor food this week Danielle & I turned to; “Wookie Cookies: A Star Wars Cookbook” to make some snacks to fit our theme. We made R2-D2 Treats from bananas dipped in white chocolate and crushed peanuts with Kit-Kat legs & Hoth Chocolate.

Overall, the night went very well, & we learned some things to different next time; like take the kids to the park before the movie and wear them out playing, and maybe split the movie up over two days or before & after dinner. Although the boys LOVE anything Star Wars and used to sit riveted all the way through a film, they now have seen them all a few times and are way to full of wonderful energy to just sit and watch for almost two hours.

See you next time when we watch; “Star Wars Episode II: The Attack of the Clones

Zane and Logan LOVE Build-a-Bear, they ask if we can go everytime we are at the mall.  Aunt Dot sent them gift cards to go to Build-a-Bear for christmas, they were very excited.  At first they decided they would get the car they have been eyeing but mommy won’t spend the money on it because “a box makes a great car for your bears and it’s cheaper”.  As soon as we got there they changed their mind…they wanted to build a new friend!

Here are some pics of their fun time.

Thanks Aunt Dot!!
