Most fires in AZ are in the north, Prescott/Flagstaff area. This summer there is fire raging southwest of Phoenix the Ethan fire that is burning through salt cedar and mesquite in the Gila River bed. When we were on our way to the circus Thurs evening we captured this picture of the smoke rising.

The sky over the highway soon turned gray and orange, on our way home we had ash falling on our car and could smell the smoke. Some homes have been evacutated but now they are starting to let people go back to their homes and I do not believe anyone or any dwellings have been damaged.

I know, I know I’ve been slacking on the posts. Well all I can say is I’ll try harder to keep up on them. For now I’ll give you the last 3 months in a nutshell!! March flew by, my dad was back and so was our gorgeous weather–it really sealed the deal for J and I that 3 months of dry hot days was worth it for the fall and winter but mostly for the “spring” (our spring starts late Jan-mid May). So in April we started looking for houses. Quite an overwhelming undertaking with all the foreclosures out here but we started and looked at a lot of homes we found one we put an offer in on, decided that maybe that wasn’t the right house, looked found the right house, put in a new offer and withdrew our other one and now we are waiting. We have a signed contract with the bank but we are waiting for the inspection. We also realized we hit the one year mark on May 10th, we decided although we have seen some of our family we would love to see and hug all our friends and family ( i was feeling a little “homesick”) so we took a trip back to MA in May. It was a busy and quick visit, it kind of felt like our wedding: you don’t feel like you have enough time to spend with everyone you want to and just hope you do your best! We came back to temps in the triple digits and have been enjoying them ever since! It is now summer in AZ!! We’ve taken a few day trips w/the boys and we’re getting Zane ready to start kindergarten Aug. 11th, he’s excited and nervous he says! J and I also celebrated out 7th wedding anniversary in June! We had been so preoccupied w/other things that when a card from my parents arrived I looked at J and said “ummm Monday’s our anniversary” and he replied “No way–What day is today?” We were both happy to realize that the other had forgotten too!

That’s it in a nutshell. J has changed the website up a bit, and soon we’ll each have a about page and what’s pretty exciting is J set up a twitter account, you can find it at the top of the left hand side, and as I get better at it I will be posting short blurbs on what we are doing or cute things the kids say.
