Well May flew by!! J went back to work leaving me with the two boys…I was so scared the first day! Lucky for me everything is going just fine!! : I am enjoying this time with my boys so much, I dread the day I have to go back to work. 9
Zane and Logan are great, I couldn’t ask for two more amazing children!! Zane is very patient when he wants something and I’m tending to Logan, he may whine a bit but just waits until I’m available. We were so worried that Zane would be jealous of his little brother and all the attention Logan is getting but for the most part Zane hasn’t been. He has little things that he wants now, for example he wants to be carried now when before you couldn’t get him to let you carry him and he wants to ride in the stroller which is very new for him because not too long ago we couldn’t keep him in a stroller he wanted to walk everywhere like a big boy. I can’t really blame him I’d rather be carried and pushed if I had the choice!! He is enjoying trying out all of Logan’s things like his swing and his bouncy chair…good thing Zane’s still small enough to fit in them! Zane has also been very lucky that he still gets a lot of attention from everyone…he made out like it was his birthday with all the gifts people gave him…I’m surprised he’s not asking for another brother yet!
Logan has been such a great baby…so far! : He is already sleeping 4-5 hours in a row for me and if I put him down while he’s still awake…he puts himself to sleep!! He is seldom a fussy baby and when he is its easy enough to fix with a burp or diaper change or even just moving him to different scenery. He is awake a lot for a new baby just watching observing, and his favorite thing to watch is his brother running around like a mad man!! We always joke that Logan will have a nervous tick from his brother nearly running over him all the time or Zane screaming the second Logan falls asleep. I guess it’s the joys of being the 2nd child. Logan gave mommy his first smile at 5 weeks and we’re just waiting for the laugh to follow. He is such a talkative baby, he’s always babbling. It’s funny because sometimes it really sounds like he’s saying words and it seems like he “yells” at us to get our attention.
Zane has been working so hard on speaking and at the end of the month had what Courtney (his speech therapist) called a word explosion. He finally is using “b” to say “bye” instead of saying “dye” and is actually calling me MAMA sometimes instead of dada all the time! He says “wow” “mine” “no” and shakes his head vigorously “me” as he points to himself(he is so smart!!) “why” “lu clue” for Blue’s Clues his absolute favorite show “ello” for Elmo his 2nd favorite show,
“ella” elephant
“ba” bath
“hat”
“help” and signs it
We started teaching Zane some very basic and functionable signs so he wouldn’t get so frustrated…i.e. banging his head on the floor, door frame, table etc…and he is picking them up nicely and it always helps him learn the world. The funny thing is Zane started making up his own signs…he has on for drive, and one for open…I know I’m his mom but HE IS SO SMART! And J and I are so PROUD!! (and a little lucky too!) He is also still going to play group, J and I finally got the courage to leave while he was there, and he never cried once. It’s pretty sad when the parent’s have worse separation anxiety than the toddler. We do realize, however what a blessing it is to have a child that doesn’t even notice were gone.
Check in again next month for more pics and news!
